Meals for Seniors Posted: Dec 20, 2021
Unfortunately, last year, in Trail and outlying area, the Meals on Wheels program was cancelled. It has not been restarted and although Interior Health has looked for other providers, they haven't found a replacement sponsor.
There is a different service being provided with frozen meals. We have had several members do a taste test and it has received a seal of approval. These meals can be accessed two ways - for one or more, pick them up at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital Gift Shop or to order in multiples of 8 - contact Dawne Lenardon at Columbia View Lodge. Dawne can be reached at: 250-231-2947 or 250 364-5365. Very important to contact Dawne for ordering and payment information. See the menu selections and further information in the button below.

Meals on Wheels Program Posted Feb 15/24
The Meals on Wheels program no longer exists in the Greater Trail Area. Interior Health was unable to find a contractor when the Salvation Army's contract ended in April 1, 2021.
Home Health Services may provide a "Simple Meal Preparation" service for their clients receiving home support services. This includes warming frozen meals, prepping sandwiches if ingredients are available and making breakfasts such as toast, cereal, etc.
For new clients who may need Home Health services, such as Home Support, personal care or help in the community, please call the intake number at: 1-800-707-8550. There are a series of selections required – listen for the number to press for Kootenay Boundary Intake. This line is answered 7 days/week from 8:30-4:30, and messages can be left if the nurse is unable to answer.
